i'm extremely close to my family, especially my mom. my mom did a spectacular job balancing her career and family life. she's a great example of being able to "have it all," and is a true inspiration to my sisters and me. i admire strong, creative, and family-oriented women, so it's no surprise that i absolutely love the glow - a website that takes us into the world of fashionable moms. my favorite so far is christina hutson & kids because i really enjoy her fun, playful, and witty approach to dressing her children. here are some highlights from her interview:

karl lagerfeld interviews himself in this wonderful video for the launch of his new lower-priced line, karl by karl lagerfeld. we learn that karl doesn't like being limited by the word muse. he also discusses other topics, including one that many women are very curious about - how to become chic. according to karl, "there's little hope to become chic because there are peasants in countries who are beyond chic in their poor recs, and very rich women who are not chic in the most expensive dresses." i couldn't agree with him more. there's no formula to being chic - you either have it or you don't. period.

i found the greatest vintage color block bags at the alameda antiques faire last month. one is currently in the shop getting a brand new closure. aside from that and some general cleaning they are in great shape and i can't wait to start using them! i am a fan of the color block trend and thoroughly enjoy it on purses.

the bags pictured above are a few of my favs because they are so stylish and fun!

i absolutely love noble town vintage because the jewelry is unique and beautiful. i recently purchased their long geode slice necklace with pyrite chunks, and i'm constantly examining and playing with the rock - it is magnificent! here are a few more of my favorite pieces by noble town vintage:

today i had a very lovely lunch catching up with a good friend. we discussed life plans, goals, dreams, cakes, bikes, setbacks, perseverance, plant based diets, and more. we laughed a lot. and loud. it made me so happy to see her and reminded me of how lucky i am because great friends are hard to find.

it's been a while since i've posted and it feels good to be back. these past few months i've been busy doing "outdoorsy" things, which was a big surprise to those that know me. the saddle of my road bike is now my second home because i am training for the moab century tour with team in training. it has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my life, and i absolutely love cycling now. so, i was extremely delighted when i stumbled upon phillip lim's "girls on bikes" video. incredibly fabulous women biking around SF! what's not to love?

irina werning's back to the future photo project is one of the coolest things i've seen in a long time. i'm amazed that she was able to recreate the old photos to a tee, and the end result is simply wonderful. seeing photos of complete strangers has never put such a big smile on my face...until now. more great shots here.
